When life becomes too stressful, we may contemplate giving up. Yet the ebb and flow of life is not without meaning and purpose. The good news is that the hardships you face in life are just the beginning of healing and transformation and not the conclusion. There is hope for a brighter future; therefore, we do not have to live in the current plight. I am eager to understand your emotional predicaments, journey together on the road to recovery, and come to realize the strength and hope that resides within you.
Most of the time, our anxiety, depression, and other emotional turmoil are caused by disconnected relationships. I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as my fundamental modality for families, couples, and individuals to facilitate emotional well-being and reestablish fulfilling relationships with others. Instead of pathologizing psychological distresses, I employ a client-centric and holistic perspective by listening to and comprehending your concerns, taking into account your emotions, cognitions, behaviours, family of origin, trauma, and religion/spirituality. Together, we can obtain insight into how these elements interact and influence your concerns. As an integrative psychotherapist, my approach is also informed by Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
In my professional journey, I have worked with children, adolescents, and their families in numerous specialized programs. I have worked with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, family conflict, grief, trauma, relationship issues, behavioural challenges, self-esteem/self-worth concerns, stress, and trouble adjusting to life transitions. As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I also offer premarital counselling.
Sometimes life is so difficult that your only way out is to take the next step. I hope to meet you there when you proceed to the next step. Our counselling sessions can be conducted in English, Cantonese or Mandarin.
